Second Friday Sip N' Stroll Art Walk Brings Creativity and Community to Downtown Colonial Beach

On Friday, July 10, Downtown Colonial Beach came alive as residents and visitors gathered for another memorable Second Friday Sip N' Stroll Art Walk. From inspiring artwork and live demonstrations to family-friendly activities, refreshments, and local shopping, the evening celebrated the incredible creativity that makes Colonial Beach such a vibrant arts destination.
This month's Art Walk welcomed the exciting addition of the CB Trolley and two new participants, making the event even bigger and better.
Peddlers Market, located in the Colonial Beach Shopping Center, joined the Art Walk for the first time, introducing guests to its impressive indoor marketplace featuring more than 75 small businesses offering handcrafted goods, local artwork, gifts, and unique treasures.
Another new addition was CB Train Junction, where visitors enjoyed 3D and laser-cut artwork by Aiden Trest alongside custom creations by Mike Byle, all while enjoying light refreshments in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Throughout downtown, each stop offered something unique.
At Pier 909, featured artist Kennedy Jewell showcased beautiful artwork, while Coldwell Banker Elite presented new works from members of the Colonial Beach Artists' Guild centered around the July theme, River Life, accompanied by music and refreshments.
The Colonial Beach Creative Art Center welcomed guests to the artist reception for the 23rd Annual Potomac River Regional Art Show, featuring outstanding work from 22 participating artists. Visitors had the opportunity to meet many of the artists, view award-winning pieces, and celebrate one of the area's premier art exhibitions.
Animal lovers stopped by Beach Paws Boutique to vote in the Patriotic Pets Photo Contest and enter the raffle for Fredericksburg Nationals baseball tickets, while Hawthorn Mercantile showcased fresh creations from local artists and treated guests to delicious vegan ginger snaps from Gardens of Khmet.
At CoBe Workspaces, visitors met featured artist LaPrea Rich, whose expressive work sparked conversation throughout the evening. The Riverview Inn highlighted emerging artists Eve Front and Tiffany Tate, giving the community an opportunity to support rising local talent.
The Jarrett Thor Gallery & The Artists Alliance featured artist Andrea Clement, whose sculptures, jewelry, and paintings captivated visitors, while Carl and Joyce Thor continued showcasing their own artwork in the adjoining galleries.
Music and creativity came together at Rio's Custom Creations, where DJ Flavors, Suni Conception Studios, and Sew Fun Colonial Beach added energy and inspiration to the evening.
Families enjoyed a special stop at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, where local artist Joyce Reid displayed her beautiful glass and mixed media artwork alongside printmaker Josh McGuin. Root beer floats, children's games, crafts, and stories created a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages.
Other participating businesses, including Colonial Beach Brewery, remained open late in support of the Art Walk, helping create a lively downtown atmosphere filled with art, conversation, shopping, and community spirit. Although Colonial Beach Massage is currently undergoing renovations, we look forward to welcoming them back to future Art Walks once renovations are complete.
Adding to the convenience, the Colonial Beach Trolley transported visitors throughout downtown, making it easy to explore every participating venue.
The Second Friday Sip N' Stroll Art Walk continues to showcase the incredible artists, entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations that make Downtown Colonial Beach such a special place to visit.
